He was such a public figure and people’s representative that others would envy. A simpleton with no big personal ambitions but keeping service to the people at his heart was his strength which saw him winning electoral battles one after other till his death. It is no small thing that the BJP opted to field him for the Lok Sabha for the eighth time in a row. He truly lived up to the slogan his party workers coined decades back for electioneering “Jis Ka Na Koi Poochhe Haal Uske Sang Giridhali Lal”. He knew his constituency and its people like back of his palm. He was “Bhai Saheb” for all. He was most approachable. Any one could walk up to him at any hour of the day and night with his problem. राजेंद्र बोड़ा इक्कीसवीं सदी के पहले दशक में राजस्थान के लोग एक बार फिर शासन की बागडोर सौपने के लिए अपने नए प्रतिनिधियों का चुनाव चार दिसम्बर को करने जा रहे हैं. नई सदी में हुए विधानसभा के पहले चुनावों में राज्य के मतदाताओं ने दो तिहाई बहुमत के बल पर अशोक गहलोत के नेतृत्व में शासन कर रही कांग्रेस को बुरी तरह नकारते हुए दिल्ली से राजस्थान भेजी गई भारतीय जनता पार्टी की वसुंधरा राजे के सर पर जीत का सेहरा बाँधा था. मरू प्रदेश में यह पहली बार हुआ जब भारतीय जनता पार्टी यहाँ अपने बूते पर पूर्ण बहुमत पाने में सफल रही. इससे पहले दो बार यह पार्टी भैरोंसिंह शेखावत के नेतृत्व में सत्ता में रही मगर तब उसे पूर्ण बहुमत नहीं था और उसे अन्य पार्टियों तथा निर्दलियों के समर्थन से राज चलाना पड़ा. पाँच वर्ष बाद भारतीय जनता पार्टी और कांग्रेस सत्ता में आने के लिए जनता का मत हासिल करने के वास्ते फ़िर आमने सामने हैं. सन् 2008 के विधानसभा चुनावों की सन् 2003 के चुनावों से अनोखी समानता है. पिछली बार अशोक गहलोत अपने "शानदार" और "सफल" कार्यकाल का झंडा लिए दम ख़म के साथ मैदान में थे और उन्हें जीत ...
